The Opportunity

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for multiple positions for Assistant in Nursing (AINs) to join our team for a new Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at Glengarry Private Hospital. The TCU will provide short term care to optimise the functioning and independence of the older person who requires more time and support to make decisions on their long-term care options. 

You will work as a valued member of our team in our 21 bedded unit and support the nurse and allied health teams in providing vital support to patients within the unit. Your role will include assisting with meals, activities of daily living, position and mobility, personal hygiene, vital sign monitoring, documentation, and environmental maintenance under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.  You will be supported to work to your full Scope of Practice as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN). Training will be provided.

The successful candidate’s will be available to work a rotating roster of morning and afternoons including weekends.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a warm and caring nature and a passion for working with older adults. You will be a positive and effective team player and have an ability to manage your time effectively to meet your responsibilities.

You will also hold:

  • Certificate III in Acute Care/Health Service Assistance
  • Hold a medication competency certificate.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of customer service
  • Ability to work in a team  
  • Ability to work a rotating 7-day roster.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
