The Opportunity
We are seeking a Loan Coordinator to join our Central Sterilisation Services Department team at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital. You will work alongside a friendly team and have the opportunity to work with the latest machinery in our brand-new state of the art CSSD Hub and Spoke Model.
In this role you will be responsible for the coordination of loaned Reusable Medical Devices (RMDs), including planning, inspection, decontamination, assembly, wrapping and sterilisation. This position holds a key leadership and coordination role which will see you work closely with your CSSD team and the Operating Theatre team to achieve organisational goals across multiple sites. Reporting directly to the Regional CSSD Manager, you will work within an efficient and supportive professional team to assist the perioperative team to deliver the best care for our patients.
Duties may include but are not limited to;
- Coordinate and track the movement of scheduled loan RMDs across sites
- Working within a team to process instruments, trays, and equipment in a timely manner to meet operational requirements
- You will work within various allocated areas within the department.
- You will ensure consistency and continuous workflow between the various Operating Theatre areas and CSSD whilst practising exceptional customer service and maintaining the high operational standards of the sterilisation department.
- Coordinate timely delivery and pick up of all loaned RMDs
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III qualification in Sterilising Services.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Central Sterilisation Services Department
- Your positive outlook will enable you to collaborate effectively with our team and independently as required.
- You will be customer service oriented in both internal and external settings.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Excel in particular)
- Strong knowledge of the principles behind AS 5369:2023
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
