About the Role

As the Senior Prosthetics Officer, you will oversee the procurement and supply of prosthetic products—such as stents and joint implants—ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing and inventory accuracy. You will provide leadership in purchasing operations, collaborate with clinical teams and suppliers, and help implement improvements to enhance our overall supply service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee prosthetic purchasing activities in line with Ramsay Health Care and hospital contracts.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and ensure timely, compliant product delivery.
  • Align procurement with preferred supplier agreements, brands, and schedules.
  • Monitor and implement updates from the Commonwealth Government Prosthesis Schedule.
  • Manage product evaluations, stock levels, and return to optimise performance and reduce waste.
  • Lead purchasing workflows, support junior staff, and manage product trials.
  • Liaise with theatre teams, suppliers, and hospital departments to ensure alignment between procurement and clinical needs.
  • Provide accurate, timely reporting and maintain systems for audit-readiness.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with health and safety standards, policies, and accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in risk management, WHS training, and hospital quality improvement initiatives.

 

About You

You are a strong communicator, a problem-solver, and someone who brings accuracy, and accountability to their work.

Minimum 2 years' work experience is required. 

Essential:

  • Experience with purchasing and inventory systems (e.g. SAP, Pronto).
  • Healthcare or medical supply experience.
  • Previous experience in prosthetics supply.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Sound computer skills (MS Office).
  • Hospital experience and knowledge of supply/inventory functions in healthcare.
  • Completion or progress toward a Diploma in Purchasing & Contract Management or equivalent.

 

Remuneration

An annual base salary of $89, 000 + superannuation is on offer, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. Penalties and allowances are additional.
