We are seeking a passionate Medical Education Officer to join our Medical Services team at Greenslopes Private Hospital in Brisbane.

 

Flexible from Part-time to Full-time hours (up to 38 hours per week)

Fixed term contract for 12 months with scope of converting to a Permanent Contract.

 

About the Role

As a part of the Medical Services Education team, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to foster innovation, support a learning culture and facilitate an integrated approach to Medical Education. You will play a key role in supporting the team to deliver a high quality, evidence based educational program for medical interns and residents that is consistent with adult learning principles and accreditation standards.

You will be the working in a leading private teaching hospital with a well-established reputation for education, training, research and innovation. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, improvement-focused individual.

You will be a member of the Medical Services team and will work closely with the Deputy Director of Medical Services, Medical Services Manager, Clinical Supervisors and other internal stakeholders.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a passion for adult education with a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with our junior doctors and clinical supervisors.

You will bring experience in fostering a positive learning environment while maintaining a strong administrative and computer (Microsoft Suite) skillset to manage the clerical demands of the learning programs. Experience and knowledge of the Health Industry and the relevant training accreditation standards therein will be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education/Adult Education, or Health or related discipline, or a professional clinical qualification with other formal qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching.
  • A strong problem-solving skillset and innovative approach to adult education.
  • A firm understanding of the New National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training.
  • Familiarity with the Queensland Health system will be highly regarded, although not essential.
