The Opportunity
We are seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Theatres Department. Our Theatre Department at Dudley Private and Ramsay Surgical Centre offers an extensive range of surgical services across 8 fully equipped operating theatres. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be taking on a key leadership role within the unit working closely with the theatre floor managers to ensure the efficient management of staff and resources with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practice.
Reporting into the Director of Clinical Services you will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will be a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow with a focus on education, training and skill-based learning. You hold exceptional communication skills and have the ability to inspire, motivate and mentor your team.
You will also demonstrate the following:
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in an acute hospital environment essential
- Demonstrate experience in a leadership or management role
- Experience and knowledge with theatre, anaesthetics and recovery requirements
- Proven ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources
- Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate continuous improvement program
- Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice
Highly desirable:
- Post graduate studies in nursing leadership
- Sound computer skills in MS Office suite including Excel
