Permanent part time opportunities to join John Flynn Private Hospital as a Clinical Midwife -Obstetrics Ward.

 

The John Flynn Maternity Unit Comprises of 3 Birth Suites, 12 inpatient beds and an 8 bed Special Care Nursery to support the needs of our five Obstetricians. We also offer additional pre & postnatal services inclusive of a Maternity Navigator service, Know My Midwife program, Breastfeeding & Lactation Support and Paediatric Early Parenting Program. With the recent addition of new Obstetricians, we are focusing on growing our service with exciting opportunities available for enthusiastic and ambitious midwives looking for career progression. 

 

About the Role

We are looking for exceptional individuals who demonstrates a positive and enthusiastic approach to continuous improvement and the ability to deliver quality patient outcomes and who are seeking to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge whilst clearly demonstrating the Ramsay Way. 

As Clinical Midwife you are required to act as a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all facets of Midwifery and Neonate care whilst demonstrating a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting. 

 

About You

  • You will showcase your adept communication skills and your capacity to establish and nurture effective interpersonal connections.
  • Your role will involve engaging in constructive and collaborative communication with family members, a diverse group of healthcare professionals and community agencies.

 

Essential Skills and experience

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
  • Extensive midwifery experience that demonstrates expert clinical and problem-solving skills
  • A minimum of 3 years post registration experience, with experience in maternity and obstetrics inclusive of birth suite, postnatal, antenatal and Special Care Nursery
  • Relevant post graduate qualification will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Quality / Continuous Improvement processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates ability to deliver quality patient care
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proven ability to function in a multi-disciplinary team.

 

Remuneration

On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $54.72 - $58.82 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4)

John Flynn Private Hospital is a 354 bed, acute care hospital located at Tugun, which is on the southern end of the Gold Coast, within 5 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport. Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
