Six-month fixed term fulltime contract available for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Theatres!

 

About the Role

This role will involve working closely with the perioperative NUMs with the everyday running of the operative suite. This role will be ideally suited to someone looking to step into theatre management. The role will involve morning and evening theatre coordinating and will be required to step up to relive the NUM on occasions.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • You will facilitate the smooth operation of Theatre with a can-do attitude and strong customer service focus.
  • Apply advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
  • Provide a support role to all members of the nursing team, acting as a role model and resource person within the clinical area.
  • You will provide leadership and direction to the department to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the unit and hospital.
  • Your positive attitude, ability to prioritise, delegate and adapt, along with your excellent time management skills are all of critical importance for this role.
  • Drive positive improvement in a key portfolio of your interest, reporting to measurable KPI targets.
  • This position holds a key leadership function and will see you report to and work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to achieve organisational goals.
  • Relieve the NUM role during periods of leave.

 

About You

You will bring extensive clinical skills and experience within Theatre. While leadership or management experience within a clinical setting will be highly desirable, the role will also suit an experienced Nurse looking to step up into a leadership management position.

 

Your Skills and Experience

  • Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 5 years theatre experience.
  • Holding or working towards a tertiary management qualification along with post-graduate qualifications in perioperative nursing will be highly desirable.
  • High standard of organisational skills to effectively coordinate the time, human and financial resources of Theatre.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a continuous improvement program.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
