An opportunity currently exists for a qualified and experienced Nurse Unit Manager with strong management and leadership qualities to lead a dedicated, highly qualified and professional team at Pindara Private Hospital.
The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, this role forms a key part of the Management team accountable for the efficient and effective operation of the 25 bed ward and 4 bed Close Observation unit for Neurosurgery and Breast Care Patients
This is a permanent part-time role with minimum 9 or 10 shifts contracted hours of 68.4 – 76 hours per fortnight.
The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for:
• Shaping organisational strategy, improving procedural service provision and achieving departmental and Hospital strategic objectives
• Working with and support other managers in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practices and legislative requirements
• Overseeing the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources within the department
• Plan, implement and evaluate practices, processes and services within the unit
About you
• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
• Holding or working towards a tertiary management qualification
• Clinical skills and experience within Neurosurgery and management of Breast Care Patients
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
• Demonstrated management and decision-making skills, and previous experience in a management position
• Excellent customer service skills, work ethic, and time management skills
• Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources
• Continuous improvement capabilities including planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a continuous improvement program
• Capacity to apply research findings to clinical practice
• Sound computer skills
