We are seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Nurse to join our team at The Avenue in a Full-time role as an Orthopaedic Nurse Navigator
About the Role
The Orthopaedic Navigator acts as a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise (inpatient/outpatient).
Using your clinical orthopaedic assessment skills and knowledge of private hospital admission criteria and funding models, you will coordinate & contribute to patient orthopaedic pre-assessments in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team & consultants.
You will strive to meet best practice length of stay requirements to ensure efficient bed management and utilisation. The Orthopaedic Navigator will be responsible for facilitating community and acute patients into the appropriate treatment whilst ensuring the patient and their carer are fully informed of the services and processes.
About You:
As this is a specialist role, we are seeking a candidate with at least 7 years’ professional experience and demonstrate high levels of clinical and managerial experience across orthopaedic settings.
You will be responsible for
- Ensure a high level of patient satisfaction
- Supporting orthopaedic bed coordination
- Strong commitment to quality care, continuous improvement
- Excellent communication with all stakeholders (internal and external)
Essential Criteria
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of three years post registration in speciality area of Orthopaedic nursing or relevant experience in advanced practice
- Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and initiatives supporting the customer experience
- Understanding of health fund requirements for orthopaedic services (desirable)
- Proven project management skills with sound organisational and change management skills
- Computer literacy.

- Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
