The Media & Public Relations Advisor – Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) is responsible for delivering proactive, high-quality public relations and media activity that strengthens the hospital’s reputation and contributes to Ramsay Health Care’s positive profile in Western Australia and nationally. The role leads the sourcing, pitching and coordination of media stories, manages PR/media approvals, builds and nurtures relationships with the media and creates and publishes content for Joondalup Health Campus social media channels. Working under the direction of the WA Communications Manager and in close partnership with the Senior Communications Coordinator, the Advisor ensures all PR activity is strategic, well-executed and aligned with organisational priorities.
Essential
• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated experience in media relations, preferably in healthcare.
• Proven ability to source, pitch and deliver media stories.
• Strong writing, editing and content creation skills.
• Strong understanding of communications platforms.
• Experience managing social media content and engagement.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Confident communicator able to build constructive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Previous experience in the health (or related) sector (desirable)
