About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Theatre Floor Coordinator to join our perioperative team. In this pivotal role, you will assist with the management of our Operating Theatres, Procedure Room, Cardiac Catheter Labs, PACU and DOSA, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.

You will work closely and report to the Nurse Unit Manager, while leading a skilled nursing team, supporting clinical decision-making, and driving service excellence. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical leadership and oversight across perioperative services
  • Lead initiatives to enhance surgical workflows, patient safety, and infection control practices
  • Mentor and support nursing staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Take direct responsibility for managing staff behaviour and performance. Addressing issues promptly and constructively in alignment organisational standards
  • Communicate with clarity, confidence, and tact across all levels of staff and multidisciplinary teams, maintaining professionalism in complex or high-pressure situations
  • Collaborate effectively with medical, allied health, and administrative teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical performance indicators, implementing evidence-based improvements
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • A minimum of five years perioperative nursing experience, including at least two years in a clinical leadership or supervisory role
  • Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing, clinical leadership, or healthcare management (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, drive quality improvement, and uphold high standards of clinical governance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication style that supports effective engagement across all levels of staff and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven capability in managing performance and behavioural matters directly with fairness, consistency, and accountability

 

Remuneration: 

On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $62.29 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

Requirements
