We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Perioperative Clinical Education Team at North West Private Hospital in a full-time capacity. You will be providing education and clinical expertise to nursing staff in our Perioperative environment covering Day surgery, GE, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Scrub Scout and CSSD
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Leading and supporting a team of Perioperative Clinical Facilitators to plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based education programs for the Perioperative space.
• Design, Implement and evaluate education programs through theoretical and clinical activities.
• Facilitating the completion of department based training and clinical competency assessments.
• Providing clinical support to our nursing teams.
• Contributing to the hospital Quality Improvement processes.
• Contribute to the support of undergraduate and students and post graduate nurses with in the perioperative unit
• Promoting a learning culture by encouraging reflection and professional development.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring exceptional time management skills, be highly organised and flexible to accommodate educational needs across different areas. You will have a committed and proactive approach to professional development, demonstrated experience in mentoring clinical staff, developing and delivering innovative education programs and be an exceptional and positive role model.
Essential Criteria:
• Relevant Nursing Registration with AHPRA.
• Minimum of 3 years’ post registration experience.
• Five (5) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a perioperative department.
• Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently where required.
• Proficient computer skills including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment - TAE40116.
• Post Graduate qualifications in the perioperative environment or Clinical Education (or working towards).
