About the role
 
As the Health Information Manager you will be responsible for the administration and management of Health Information Services across the Newcastle network of hospitals to ensure data is collected, collated and managed in line with site, state and federal legislative requirements. 
 
 
About You
 
To thrive in this role, you should be adaptable, possess exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills, and constantly demonstrate courtesy and sensitivity when dealing with patients, the public, and fellow team members.
 
 
To be successful in this role you will have:
 
Essential: 
  • Diploma/ Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent) 
  • Membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia 
  • Effective communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required 
  • Advanced data collection & interpretation skills. 
 
Desirable
  • A minimum of 3 years hospital medical records coding experience across a variety of specialities 
  • Previous private health experience 
  • Knowledge of health fund contracting system.

Requirements
  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
