The Opportunity
To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience in a Theatre environment and hospital setting. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable to provide exceptional service to our patients along with the ability to manage conflicting priorities in this busy and fast-paced environment.
Theatre Assistants play an essential role in the smooth running of our Cath lab and theatres and help us maintain our exceptional levels of care.
While experience is not necessary in this role, an interest in patient care is essential to succeed in this role. You will have excellent communication skills and a willingness to develop a working knowledge of hospital procedures. You will be a motivated, positive individual and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. Willingness to learn and to be trained as a hospital orderly.
Duties include
- Transporting patients to and from Cath lab to recovery, wards, day surgery unit.
- Assisting nurses to prepare and position patients for procedures.
- Assisting nurses to clean and change over procedure room between cases.
- Infection control practices and clinical waste management essential.
- Knowledge of Manual Handling practices
- Stock management (collection and distribution of stock throughout department
About You
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effective within a team environment and independently
- Excellent patient and customer service focus
- Be available for a range of shifts across a 5-day rotating roster
- Prior experience in a similar role (Desirable)
Remuneration
A base hourly rate ranging from $32.14 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
