Career Medical Officer | ICU Career Medical Officer Casual Opportunities 
 
About the Role
 
We are seeking skilled Career Medical Officers and ICU Career Medical Officers who have a strong interest in acute surgical and medical care, as well as ICU. These roles offer outstanding exposure to a broad range of clinical specialities, supported by an exceptional nursing and allied health team.
We offer a flexible roster of varied shifts — day, evening, and night — across weekdays and weekends, providing an excellent work-life balance and diverse clinical experience.
Successful candidates may choose to be employed by the hospital or engage as contractors.
 
Career Medical Officer (CMO):
 
• AHPRA Registration
• PGY3+
• Previous experience in a similar role or as a Registrar in a similar role
• Demonstrated high level of clinical competence
• Highly developed verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Suite
• Neonate experience with neopuff
• Neonate cannulation
• Ward shifts are day evening and night
 
ICU Career Medical Officer:
 
• Applicants must be at least 4 years postgraduate with experience in critical care (ICU, Anaesthetics or ED).
• Proven clinical competence and confidence in acute ICU (ultrasound guided peripheral cannulation, arterial line insertion, central venous cannulation, endotracheal intubation)
• PGY4+
• AHPRA Registration
• Be available for flexible shift work, day and night
• Demonstrated high level of clinical competence
• Highly developed verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Suite
 
Desirable
• Experience in cardiothoracic and neurosurgical intensive care and complex UGI and bariatric surgery 
• Current ALS 1 / CALS certification
• Current ALS2 (ARC accredited course)
• Completion of Basic Assessment in Intensive Care (BASIC) Course

Requirements
 
• Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
