   Join our dedicated Perioperative Department and play a vital role in supporting high-quality patient care. We are seeking motivated and efficient individuals to join our team as Operating Theatre Assistants, including an opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to guide and support our theatre team.
 
About the Role
As an Operating Theatre Assistant, you will be an essential member of our surgical team, supporting nursing and medical staff to ensure the smooth operation of the theatre environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting and supporting patients within the Operating Theatres.
 
- Preparing, cleaning, and maintaining the theatre environment in accordance with scheduled operating lists.
 
- Caring for and maintaining theatre equipment.
 
- Assisting theatre staff as required to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
 
 
Team Leader Opportunity
The Operating Theatre Assistant – Team Leader plays a key role in ensuring the effective coordination of daily theatre activities and maintaining high standards of patient care.
In this leadership position, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing daily operations and ensuring staff are supported and performing effectively.
 
- Maintaining clear and professional communication between departments and service users to ensure smooth operations.
 
- Leading by example and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with hospital standards and procedures.
 
These hands-on roles are central to the surgical process. Your efficiency, attention to detail, and commitment to teamwork will directly contribute to outstanding patient outcomes.
 
About You
You are a proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care. You demonstrate strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Theatre Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role.
 
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
 
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
 
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
 
- A demonstrated commitment to patient care and service excellence.
 
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends, evenings, and participation in the on-call roster.
 
Highly Regarded:
- Certificate III or IV in Health Services or a related field, or an Assistant in Nursing qualification.
 
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a small team in a perioperative environment.
 
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
 
- Understanding of perioperative workflows and procedures.
