About the role
 
We are seeking a Corporate Counsel, Clinical to support to the National Legal Manager, Clinical and Legal Services Department on a wide range of legal, clinical and risk management matters in Ramsay Australia facilities and Head Office departments.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in providing legal support and advice on a variety of legal issues, including clinical risk, claims management, regulatory matters, privacy and data breach. You will be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as external lawyers, joint venture partners, contractors, and Ramsay Managers and employees. 
 
Essential Criteria: 
 
• Solicitor admitted to a Supreme Court of a State of Australia
• Minimum of 2 years post admission experience 
• Experience in personal injury or medical malpractice claims 
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
• Proven ability to work effectively with broad range of diverse stakeholders 
• Strong negotiation and legal drafting skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills 
• High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office programs
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy 
 
Desirable Criteria: 
 
• Previous experience in a health care setting 
• Previous in-house experience 
• Demonstrated experience and training at major law firm
• Experience advising on areas of clinical and medico-legal risk
• An understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology as well as the health industry and hospital operations (both private and public)
• Experience advising on regulatory matters including legislative review, and compliance 
• Knowledge of privacy and data breach legislation
