About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse to take on the role of Nurse Unit Manager at Caloundra Private Day Surgery.

In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for managing the Day Surgery Unit, overseeing both the clinical and operational aspects of the service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering a culture of professionalism and compassion.
  • Managing the effective and efficient use of human and material resources.
  • Collaborating with perioperative and hospital leadership teams to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Contributing to organisational strategy, improving procedural services, and supporting the achievement of hospital-wide objectives.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering holistic, patient-centred care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

 

About You

You are an approachable and motivated leader who thrives on problem-solving, team development, and driving service excellence.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage clinical teams effectively.
  • A minimum of five years of postgraduate experience in an acute care environment.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience within perioperative nursing.
  • Demonstrated skills in staff rostering and resource allocation for both clinical and non-clinical personnel.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty or management discipline (highly regarded).

Requirements

  • Provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
  • Mental Health nursing experience essential.
