Human Resources Business Partner – NSW

Head Office | St Leonards, Sydney | Full-time, Permanent

Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our NSW team, based at our Head Office in St Leonards. This is a newly created, strategic role designed for a HR leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys influencing at an enterprise level.

In this role, you will lead high-impact HR projects while building and strengthening partnerships with key vendors and suppliers, working closely with Procurement to support the broader HR and People Services agenda. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on workforce strategy, organisational development, and complex employee and industrial relations matters.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially astute HR professional who brings strong leadership capability, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset to deliver meaningful, sustainable outcomes across the organisation.

The Opportunity

As a HR Business Partner, you will operate as a strategic partner to senior leaders across the NSW portfolio and corporate functions. You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering workforce and people strategies, leading enterprise HR initiatives, and influencing best-practice outcomes across the employee lifecycle.

A key focus of this role is building and fostering effective relationships with external vendors and suppliers, supporting procurement strategy within the HR space to ensure value, quality, and alignment with organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level, strategic HR advice to leaders on workforce planning, organisational design, performance management, and complex case management.

  • Lead and deliver local, state, and national HR projects, ensuring alignment with Ramsay’s strategic and operational objectives.

  • Partner closely with Procurement to establish, manage, and optimise relationships with HR-related vendors and suppliers.

  • Influence and drive organisational development and cultural change initiatives to enhance leadership capability and workforce effectiveness.

  • Coach and mentor leaders to strengthen people management capability, legislative compliance, and decision-making.

  • Provide expert support in employee and industrial relations matters, including negotiations, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation.

  • Use data and insights to inform workforce strategy, engagement, and retention initiatives.

  • Act as a role model and leader within the People team, contributing to capability uplift and continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a seasoned HR professional with a strong strategic orientation and the credibility to influence at senior levels.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in HR Business Partnering or Industrial Relations roles within complex, matrixed organisations.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated expertise in complex ER/IR matters, organisational development, and leading change initiatives.

  • Proven leadership capability, with experience coaching, influencing, and guiding senior stakeholders.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience working with vendors, suppliers, or procurement partners in the HR space.

  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery.
