About the role
Greenslopes Private Hospital currently has an opportunity for a training Medical Officer to join our existing team of doctors to provide clinical care of patients in the Keith Payne Unit.
The Unit cares for former military and DVA patients only, patients often having complex presentations including PTSD, and associated disorders such as depression, sleep disorders, substance abuse and family/relationship issues. This is an accredited training post with the college of psychiatrists.
The Trainee Psychiatry Registrar forms a part of the team, responsible for the psychiatric aspect of care of patients admitted under accredited VMOs (approved to work with and supervise a college trainee).
The Keith Payne Unit is a 31-bed unit supported by a team of dedicated nurses and a nurse unit manager. The training position will benefit from inpatient exposure as well as broader hospital consult liaison and outpatient services including consults and group programs.
About you
• Approved college trainee, working towards specialisation in the field of Psychiatry.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a broad spectrum of patients.
• Exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
You will also bring
• Current General registration with AHPRA
• Current clinical experience in Australia as PGY4 or above
• Suitable for Psychiatry Registrar Training
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
