The Opportunity

John Flynn Private Hospital is seeking reliable and professional Security Officers to join our team in Tugun. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining a safe, calm and secure environment across the hospital.

You will provide a strong visual security presence while delivering respectful and customer-focused service in a healthcare setting.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting scheduled internal and external patrols
  • Monitoring hospital grounds, facilities and car parks
  • Supporting the safety and wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors
  • Responding to incidents and escalating issues as required
  • Assisting with conflict resolution and de-escalation
  • Monitoring CCTV systems and reporting security concerns
  • Supporting emergency responses when required

You will work a 7-day rotating roster (AM & PM shifts) and must be flexible to work weekends.

This role reports to the Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator and is part of a dedicated and professional hospital support team.

 

About You

You are calm under pressure, professional in your approach, and confident interacting with a diverse range of people in sensitive situations. You understand the importance of safety in a healthcare environment and bring a strong customer service focus to your security work.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Current QLD Security Licence
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Physically fit and able to undertake patrol duties
  • Availability to work weekends and rotating shifts

Desirable:

  • CCTV monitoring experience
  • Previous security experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Fire Warden training (provided during induction if not held)

Requirements

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
