- Registered Nurse – Assessment Team (Casual)
- We’re seeking a skilled and flexible Registered Nurse to join our Assessment Team in a casual, intermittent support capacity.
- Shifts predominantly run Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.
About the role
In this position, you’ll be responsible for evaluating patients referred from acute care for inpatient rehabilitation, ensuring safe, suitable and prompt transitions.
As the ‘Face of Donvale’, you will play a vital role in representing both the Hospital and Ramsay Healthcare to patients and clinicians at referring facilities. The role requires autonomy, strong interpersonal and assessment abilities, and substantial clinical experience. It’s an ideal opportunity for a confident Registered Nurse who values variety and independence. You’ll step in to cover annual leave, sick leave, long service leave, school holidays, and busy periods—helping maintain efficient and timely patient assessments.
Permanent ward staff may also have the opportunity to pick up Assessment Team shifts in addition to their contracted hours, either casually or on a permanent basis. Where possible, permanent staff may be temporarily released from ward rosters to support the team.
About You
You are an experienced, flexible and patient-focused Registered Nurse who can step in at short notice and confidently work independently.
To be successful, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in acute care
- Strong understanding of the rehabilitation process
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound clinical decisions
- A strong customer service focus
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience assessing patients across a broad range of clinical areas
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.

Remuneration: On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $52.35 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (VIC RN/Midwife Gr3B)
