Graduate Midwifery Facilitator | Part-time 64hrs

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced and motivated midwives to undertake the role of Graduate Midwifery Facilitator. This role plays a key part in supporting graduate midwives as they transition into clinical practice, ensuring a safe, supportive and high-quality learning environment

 Principal Responsibilities to include (but not limited to)

• Providing clinical facilitation, support and guidance to the Graduate Midwives within the maternity service
• Supporting graduates to consolidate clinical skills, critical thinking and professional confidence in line with NMBA standards for practice
• Acting as a role model for professional midwifery practice, clinical excellence and respectful workplace behaviours
• Providing timely feedback, coaching and education to graduate midwives in the clinical environment
• Contributing to assessment processes, documentation and performance reviews
• Liaising with the Midwife Unit Manager, Clinical Midwifery Specialists, Specialist Staff Development Midwives and the Graduate Program Coordinator to ensure consistent support and communication
• Promoting patient safety, quality care and adherence to policies, procedures and clinical guidelines

What we are looking for

• Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration (no restrictions)
• Demonstrated clinical experience ≥ 5 years
• Completion of FSEP Level 3
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support, mentor and coach graduate midwives
• Sound clinical knowledge and the ability to translate this into supportive, evidence-based practice
• Demonstrated commitment to education, professional development and graduate support
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

• Previous experience in a facilitation, preceptorship, education or mentoring role
• Completion of preceptorship program or equivalent
• Interest in contributing to ongoing improvement of graduate programs and education frameworks
• Manual Handling/Basic Life support/Medication assessor competence.
