The Role

As a Kitchen Steward, you will support our kitchen brigade in maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout all kitchen areas.

This role will be responsible for contributing to the smooth operation of our kitchen operations ensuring a high standard of hygiene and food safety.

 

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Good understanding of cleaning and organising a workplace with safe manual handling
  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe working environment at all times
  • Wash dishes as well as wash pots, pans and utensils
  • Clean ovens, range hoods, drains, hot boxes, according to cleaning daily schedule
  • Perform inventory of supplies, check temperatures, sign and store all food deliveries as per HACCP plan
  • Carry out duties as assigned, also refer to cleaning schedules and perform the necessary duties
  • Set up service lines and serving meals in line with dietary requirements and hospital standards.
  • Sweep and mopping kitchen areas, disposing of kitchen garbage and responsible for storing chemicals and cleaning products
  • Performs side duties as requested including cleaning, organizing and cleaning of storerooms and wet and dry storage areas, and cleaning of equipment
  • Available to work on rotating roster across all days of the week with morning and afternoon and evening shifts

 

You will also demonstrate:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Cooperates closely with Team leaders and Sous chef and reports directly to Head Chef / catering manager

 Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a hospital or commercial kitchen setting (highly regarded but not essential).
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively Excellent time management skills.

Requirements

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
