We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Perioperative Services team in a part-time role, responsible for the safe and timely transport of patients from the wards and Day Surgery to Theatre.

About the Role

The Theatre Transport Registered Nurse is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transfer of patients to and from the Operating Theatre. The role supports perioperative workflow by ensuring patients are prepared, correctly identified, and transported in accordance with clinical safety standards and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and prioritising patient transfers for theatre.
  • Verifying patient identity, consent, and procedure details.
  • Performing relevant pre-transfer safety checks.
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation accompanies the patient.
  • Maintaining patient dignity, comfort, and safety during transport.
  • Communicating effectively with ward staff, theatre teams, and recovery staff.
  • Escalating clinical concerns or discrepancies as required.

 

About You

You are a motivated and confident Registered Nurse who takes pride in delivering exceptional care. Your calm, solution-focused approach allows you to navigate challenges with professionalism, and you thrive as part of a collaborative team.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in perioperative or acute care nursing.
  • Previous experience in theatre transport (highly regarded).
  • Excellent communication, time management, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to patient care.

Requirements

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
