About the Role

We have a full-time opportunity to join our team as the Surgical Nurse Navigator. This newly developed role will be responsible for applying advanced knowledge and skills to facilitate the continuity and quality of care for surgical patients. The role will primarily be involved in optimisation of the patient health in readiness for their surgery, utilising our Ramsay Support Services.

Business acumen will be required to navigate the various funding models and individual patient needs, you will ensure that pre-assessments align with the planning of the multidisciplinary team & consultants.

You will strive to meet best practice length of stay requirements to ensure efficient bed management and utilisation. The Surgical Nurse Navigator will provide structured support and guidance to patients prior to surgery, ensuring they are clinically optimised, informed, and appropriately prepared for their upcoming procedure.

 

Skill and Experience

  • Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of four years post registration in speciality area of Orthopaedic nursing,
  • Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and initiatives supporting the customer experience
  • Understanding of health fund requirements for orthopaedic services (desirable)
  • Proven project management skills with sound organisational and change management skills
  • Strong computer literacy

Requirements

  • Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
