We are looking for a new After Hours Manager to join our team of experienced AHMs at Cairns Private Hospital. This role supports all hospital departments ensuring patients, families and VMOs receive a high level of care and service. This is a key leadership position that is accountable for efficient and effective operational management of the hospital after-hours.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Registered Nurse to lead patient flow, bed management, and clinical services.
About the Role
As After-Hours Manager, you will:
- Assume overall responsibility for the hospital after hours, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
- Be an effective role model throughout the hospital in the absence of the managers
- Display extensive clinical skills and experience along with exceptional interpersonal skills and communication
- Lead and manage staff, resources, and clinical services efficiently.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate processes to maintain excellence in service delivery.
About You
In this position, as a Level 3 Registered Nurse, you will display confidence and calmness with strong leadership and clinical expertise.
The role requires working with and supporting other managers, senior nurses, hospital teams and departments/services in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements.
- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA.
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and extensive clinical skills and experience.
- Highly desirable - Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
- Ability to problem solve, coordinate and deescalate situations that arise.
- Ability to act as an effective role model in the area of clinical practice.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
- Sound Computer skills in MS Office programs (Word, Excel & Outlook).
