Our Mental Health Unit has 102 purpose- built beds. This facility includes specialised services for adult, older adult, psychiatric intensive care, and a young adult and youth service.
Successful candidates must have the ability to work shifts across a 14-day rotating roster which may involve weekdays, weekend, and public holidays.
Working various shifts starting from: Shifts start times 0630, 1045, 1100 and 1330.
About the Role
As a member of our team within the newly established Mental Health Unit kitchen, you will report directly to the Head Chef. Your role will involve operating in a team-oriented environment as well as being able to work independently.
Your duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake cleaning and detailing of equipment within the kitchen and pantry areas.
- Following the hospitals HACCP/Food Safety Plan.
- Pot wash, washing all areas of the kitchen.
- Cleaning and sanitising.
- Assist in reordering of chemical supplies.
- Collection of stores, stock rotation and conduct temperature checks.
- Assisting the chef
About You
To excel in this position, we seek a proactive and enthusiastic team member with a genuine enthusiasm for catering services. Previous experience in a comparable food service environment, particularly within a clinical setting, will be highly valued.
Ideally you will also bring:
- Previous experience in a hospital or hospitality environment.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
Remuneration: On offer is a base hourly rate of $28.71 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
