The Opportunity
We are seeking a Café Manager to lead our café team at John Flynn Private Hospital. As a Cafe Manager, your primary responsibilities will be assisting with the set-up and coordination of the day-to-day operation of the café, providing a service to hospital employees and onsite visitors.
Your duties in this role will include:
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards of restaurants including OH&S
- Being accountable for the guidance and management of Cafe staff by conducting regular performance reviews; ensuring efficient and effective staff rosters are completed and displayed in a timely manner, whilst meeting requirements within the Enterprise Agreement and maintaining budgeted KPIs
- Ensuring all monetary processes are adhered to in line with the Ramsay Cash handling policy.
To ensure cohesiveness within the operation, the Cafe Manager will report to and work closely with the Food Services Manager, in a positive and respected team.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will have a high attention to detail and work effectively in a team or independently as required, within a fast-paced environment. Your ability to prioritise tasks effectively will assist you with your excellent time management skills.
You will also bring;
- Must have minimum 5 years hospitality management experience
- Experience in staff management and rostering
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
- Proven experience in stock rotation and ordering
- Balancing of takings and banking
- Compliance with HACCP, Food Safety and Workplace, Health and Safety
- Certificate II or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
- Previous management experience (highly desirable )
Remuneration
On offer is base hourly rate of $35.53 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

- Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
