The Role

We have an exciting and highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced Ward Clerk to join us on a permanent part-time basis (Thursday and Friday).

At the heart of the department, the Administration staff play a crucial role. As the initial point of contact for patients and families on our Maternity Ward, you will set the tone for a welcoming and supportive experience.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing incoming and outgoing calls to the ward
  • Provide timely and accurate information to queries by patients, visitors and other staff and departments
  • Work alongside staff, colleagues, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients
  • Compilation and management of patient admission papers and clinical notes

 

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and enjoys being part of a busy ward. Your ability to converse and be empathetic while managing a busy flow of admissions and discharges is a key skill needed for this role.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Experience either in a medical administration setting or a patient-facing role.
  • Experience with Patient Management Systems will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in and communication with a multidisciplinary team

 

Remuneration

On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $26.68 - $36.40 per hour + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (Grade1 – Grade 5 – RHC NSW Health Professionals and Support Services Enterprise Agreement)

Requirements

  • Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
