Mt Wilga Private Hospital is seeking a motivated Career Medical Officer (CMO) to join our team and help deliver exceptional rehabilitation care to our patients.

In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care while working closely with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), specialists and a multidisciplinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to patient recovery in a respected rehabilitation hospital known for clinical excellence.

The Role

As a Career Medical Officer, you will play a key role in supporting safe, effective and patient-centred care across the hospital.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality medical care in consultation with the treating VMO or specialist
• Completing patient assessments, medication charts and IV cannulation
• Responding to and attending medical emergencies within the hospital
• Conducting initial patient assessments including risk identification (VTE, falls, medication reconciliation and other clinical risks)
• Documenting Best Possible Medication History (BPMH)
• Initiating treatment and stabilisation, and coordinating admission, transfer or discharge in consultation with VMOs and specialists
• Formally admitting patients requiring hospital admission
• Supporting safe, efficient and professional medical services under the supervision of VMOs and specialists

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong clinical skills and a collaborative approach to patient care.

You will have:

• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Previous experience in a similar medical role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of statutory and legal requirements for Medical Officers in a private rehabilitation setting

Requirements

• National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
