Joondalup Health Campus is expanding and has launched a modern Private Room Service Kitchen to run alongside our public kitchen serving bulk and fresh serve cooking, and we are seeking enthusiastic experienced chefs to join our growing team to work across both our public and private services.
Successful candidates must have the ability to work shifts across a 14-day rotating roster which may involve weekdays, weekend, and public holidays, various shifts available between 05:00 and 21:00.
About the Role
As a Chef, you’ll work across both our Private Room Service Kitchen and Public Fresh‑Cook Service, preparing high‑quality meals through a blend of short‑order cooking and bulk production.
Your duties and responsibilities will encompass, but not limited to:
- Ensuring that all meals are served in appropriate portions, at the correct temperature and in accordance with Joondalup Health Campus Food Safety Program and Nutritional Guidelines
- Adhering to all aspects of the Food Safety Standards of Australia and New Zealand
- Demonstrating a keen understanding and capability to meet the dietary needs of all patients meticulously measuring ingredients to address specific dietary requirements
- Upholding a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Assisting in the procurement of food stock, ingredients supplies and equipment.
Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you are a qualified chef who is passionate about food quality, patient care, and working in a dynamic kitchen environment. You thrive in fast paced high volume catering settings and take pride in producing meals that make a difference. Ideally, you will have experience working in a clinical environment or in the preparation of food for medical patients.
In addition, we are looking for candidates who can offer:
- A trade Certificate in Catering/Chef (or equivalent) minimum 5 years’
- A Food Hygiene Certificate or HACCP Training Certificate, which is highly desirable
- Experience in large‑scale catering, hotels, hospitals, or high‑volume food production
- Strong time management and ability to work across all sections independently
- A dedicated commitment to exceptional food quality, consistency, and hygiene
- Al a carte, room service experience is highly desirable
- Hospital or aged‑care experience is beneficial but not essential—we provide training.
Remuneration:
On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $34.44 + superannuation + levels of experience and qualifications.
