Join our supportive National Safety Team as a Regional Rehabilitation and Return to Work Manager at Cairns Private Hospital. This permanent part-time opportunity (15.2 hours per week across 3 days) offers flexibility alongside purpose.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting injured workers on their recovery journey -guiding rehabilitation, improving outcomes, and helping people return to work safely and confidently. You will collaborate with managers, medical professionals, and key stakeholders to create tailored, positive rehabilitation plans that prioritise early and safe return to the workplace.

About You

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal - along with the ability to listen, influence and negotiate with confidence. Your experience in customer - focused injury management, combined with a strong grasp of controls assurance, quality management and continuous improvement, will set you up for success.

This opportunity is ideal for an Allied Health professional - particularly a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist - with a background in occupational rehabilitation who is passionate about helping people recover and return to work safely. You will also:

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Accreditation or training in workplace injury management or rehabilitation
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in managing and coordinating the rehabilitation and return to work of injured and ill workers
  • Ability to coordinate rehabilitation activities with multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of contemporary, evidence based, workplace rehabilitation and injury management practices
  • Experience in managing workers compensation matters

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification or degree within a health-related discipline
  • Previous experience within the health care sector
  • Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation legislation, in particular the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act)
