The Opportunity
Ramsay Health Care is one of Australia’s leading private healthcare providers, renowned for our commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence across our hospital network. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk to play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding a proactive risk culture across the organisation. Reporting to the Group Chief Risk Officer, this role sits within the second line of defence and provides a unique opportunity to own and enhance enterprise-wide risk frameworks, including greenfield risk registers, crisis and incident management, and second-line assurance. This is a high-impact role where you will work closely with hospital CEOs, clinical leaders, and cross-functional teams to influence risk practices, embed a proactive risk culture, and shape how risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated. The role spans clinical safety, operational risk, governance, and internal audit, offering a broad and senior-level perspective within a leading healthcare organisation.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will take ownership of ensuring Ramsay’s risk practices are robust, compliant, and forward-looking, while embedding a proactive risk culture across the organisation. Your responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, policies, procedures, and tools.
- Partner with hospitals and corporate teams to identify, assess, and report risks, ensuring alignment with organisational risk appetite.
- Analyse incidents, near misses, and audit data to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing credible challenge and guidance to hospital CEOs, clinical leaders, and first-line business owners.
- Monitor emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes to anticipate impacts on the organisation.
- Lead and contribute to incident management, business continuity, and crisis management processes, using insights to strengthen organisational resilience.
- Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to build risk awareness and capability across hospitals and corporate teams.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across hospitals, corporate teams, and the wider Ramsay network.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
What You’ll Bring
You will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capability. You should be confident in challenging the status quo, influencing stakeholders, and embedding a proactive risk culture.
Key skills and experience include:
- Proven experience in enterprise risk, operational risk, or compliance, ideally within healthcare or another highly regulated sector. Experience in a second-line risk function is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Health Services Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience with risk registers, reporting mechanisms, governance structures, and risk management information systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders respectfully.
- Ability to collaborate within a team, build relationships, and foster a culture of accountability and risk awareness.
Benefits
- An attractive remuneration package, supported by a comprehensive range of benefits that recognise your contribution and promote your wellbeing.
- Opportunities for leadership and professional development, with clear pathways for career growth across Australia’s largest private healthcare provider.
- Access to an exclusive rewards program offering premium discounts and privileges with leading national and global brands.
