About the Role

A fantastic, permanent full-time opportunity for a dynamic and adaptable professional to take a leading role in managing our Environmental Services and Catering Team.  This role will allow you to actively contribute and demonstrate your hands-on expertise in both these essential areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the catering and environmental team.
  • Managing daily operations: oversee the daily production and delivery of a high-volume of meals per day, ensuring functions run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensuring food quality, safety, and compliance with OHS and HACCP standards.
  • Managing budgets, cost control, purchasing, and stock to maximise efficiency.
  • Managing daily operations: oversee the daily environmental services run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Oversee hospital cleaning operations, ensuring compliance with health and infection control regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and develop waste management programs aligned with environmental laws and sustainability goals.
  • Ensure safe handling of hazardous and bio-medical waste
  • Maintain and manage cleaning equipment, chemicals, and protective gear according to safety protocols.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints, report concerns, and present regular performance reports.
  • Lead and train both catering and environmental services team, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and continuous improvement in service standards.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently as required.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.

 

We are looking for someone who leads by example, brings creativity to menu planning, and has experience catering for functions and events.

 

Your Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will also be punctual, reliable and with a commitment to genuine, friendly customer service.

  • You have a solid background in catering and environmental services or healthcare management, with proven skills in running high-volume operations.
  • Chef trade qualifications with experience in managing large scale catering operations.
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification. Knowledge of HACPP
  • You have an in-depth Knowledge of Infection Control & Prevention Principles and understanding of conducting cleaning audits.

 

Remuneration

As per the enterprise agreement.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
