About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for food preparation for patients, staff, cafeteria, and functions. You will also manage kitchen staff, ensures food quality, maintains hygiene standards, and creates menus for an exceptional dining experience. This role reports to the Food Services Manager and works with a large, varied team.
The duties include but are not limited to.
- Cold Larder Preparation and handling of food.
- Preparation & Cooking of meals.
- Understanding of patient dietary requirements.
- Ensuring a clean environment is maintained.
- Wash & clean downs of equipment.
- Daily completion of food and safety log sheets.
- Compliance with food safety & HACCP.
- Ordering of food & supplies.
- Stock rotation.

You will also demonstrate the following:
- Certificate in Commercial Cooking (essential).
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Chef.
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Proven ability to prepare meals that meet a wide range of dietary requirements, including allergy-sensitive meals.
- Strong understanding of allergy management and safe food handling practices.
- A collaborative and respectful approach to working in a multicultural and diverse team environment.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or aged care setting (highly regarded).
- A genuine love for cooking and contributing to a positive team culture.
- Readiness to take on a leadership role within the kitchen.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
