About The Role
We are seeking a Grade 2 Social Worker (experienced Grade 1's welcomed) to join our compassionate dedicated team at Peninsula Private Hospital on a permanent part-time basis. With our focus on providing patient-centered care, our Social Workers play a crucial role in supporting patients in hospital settings.
You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team on our inpatient wards, working with experienced healthcare professionals to identify patient needs and develop appropriate care plans. You will be responsible for providing emotional support, counselling and practical assistance to patients and their families to ensure a smooth discharge.
Your Skills and Experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work
- Relevant experience working as a Social Worker in a hospital setting, with experience in an acute ward setting.
- Eligible to be an accredited member of AASW.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with consumers, their families and all health care professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team including internal and external agencies.
- Ability to work independently, flexibly and manage time effectively, prioritize competing demands.
- Knowledge of the Aged Care sector will be highly regarded.

Peninsula Private Hospital is a comprehensive 344 bed acute emergency, surgical, medical, cardiac and obstetric facility located in the bayside town of Frankston in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs. The hospital currently accommodates a 14 bay emergency department, 226 medical and surgical, 36 cardiac, 11 ICU, 7 Neonatal, 14 Obstetric, and 30 Oncology beds which include 15 day infusion chairs. Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
