About the Role
As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will collaborate with doctors, nurses, and Allied Health staff to ensure clinical documentation is complete and accurately reflects the complexity of each patient. This dynamic role involves:
- Conducting clinical documentation reviews.
- Providing hospital-wide education.
- Assisting with quality improvement projects.
You will work closely with the Health Information team and liaise with hospital leaders to drive improvements in clinical documentation and patient care outcomes.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a self-motivated and ambitious professional who can work both autonomously and as part of a team. You will demonstrate the ability to effectively engage clinicians and stakeholders, with a strong commitment to quality improvement and positive culture change.
You will also bring:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Leadership experience
- Knowledge of the DRG classification system and private healthcare funding models (desirable).
