What's the role? 

We are looking for an experienced Fixed Plant Fitter to join the Qube team in Port Hedland at the Utah Point Port Facility. The primary role of the Fixed Plant Fitter is to undertake the inspection, fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of conveyors and workshop equipment at the port facility. A suitable candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work under pressure and independently.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have: 

  • Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate – Essential 
  • High risk license, EWP, fork lift - Highly desirable 
  • Minimum 2 years’ prior working experience in a Fixed or Mobile Plant environment 
  • Prior working experience with fixed plant machinery 
  • Ability to assist in delivering effective mechanical decisions to ensure plant reliability and operability 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude  
  • National Police Clearance (within 6 months validity) – or ability to obtain one 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people 
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment, with a proactive approach to task resolution to maintain a high quality of work 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of work completed  
  • Have a positive attitude
