Qube Bulk provides complete mine to market and mine resupply solutions offering mine, road, rail, storage, port and ship services. We handle more than 85 million tonnes per annum of various bulk ores, concentrates, mineral sands, salt, coal and dangerous goods. 

The Role:

We are currently seeking an accomplished Project Manager for our Moranbah SSAN Project in Queensland. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in a similar role and is able to attend to the needs of the business, clients and its people. As the Project Manager of Moranbah SSAN, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the business to ensure we meet optimal outcomes in the following areas. Safety, Commercial, Customer satisfaction, Leading teams of people and striving for operational excellence.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • The efficient management of branch operations and administration
  • Successfully implement new business contracts and start ups
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and expanded scope of work for existing business activities with an aim of profitably growing overall business in the Region for the Company
  • Ascertain industry/logistics best practices to identify new and/or unique programs
  • Track, analyse and delivery of presentations and communications related to key performance measures, program updates and on-going program information
  • Manage the supply of logistics to support customers
  • Investigate potential risk and other matters of significance, provide solutions and implement those solutions in consultation with stakeholders
  • Serve as liaison to customer teams to develop systems solutions to support logistics programs
  • Serve as liaison with all stakeholders for daily operational activities
  • Consults with clients to understand their distribution networks and determines the logistics resources required to support equipment, safety, personnel and maintenance
  • Implements, monitors and adjusts solutions to ensure the integration of support considerations as needed
  • Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development and work product. Evaluates employee’s performance and addresses any performance issues by making recommendations for personnel actions
  • Responsible for the strategic and operational planning of customer logistics operations
  • Ensure stakeholders understand and accept customer guidelines and requirement for all logistics operations, including service and repair
  • Drives the design, development, implementation and management of logistics solutions for the customer
  • Meet pre-determined KPIs and actively participate in performance reviews
  • Monitor drivers’ hours on a daily basis addressing any discrepancies immediately
  • Monitor fuel usage for individual prime movers (i.e. km against litres or vice versa)
  • Investigate all incidents and provide findings to both the client and management personnel
  • Complete accurate weekly and month reports
  • Carry out cost management for all areas of responsibility including; wages, maintenance, tyres, fuel etc
  • Report on overall financial performance of the branch

To be considered for this role, you will ideally demonstrate your experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the Transport and Logistics industry, preferably with exposure within the resources sector
  • Exceptional safety leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of SSAN road transport
  • MC License preferable
  • DG License preferable
  • QSEC Card must be obtainable
  • EDL License preferable
  • Outstanding commercial and financial acumen
  • Full profit and loss accountability at either contract or branch level
  • Superior communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask and priorities work across the division
