ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary purpose of the Plant Operator and Trade Assistance position is to perform tasks such as washing, cleaning and greasing of machinery post vessel operations and pre-operations checks. As well as operational duties ranging from general duties, forklift and loader operations and as required by operations.
Specific Responsibilities:
Safety & Environment:
- Perimeter and Internal Inspection of Brisbane Bulk Facility.
- Conduct daily inspections of allocated sheds and complete Shed Inspection Checklist for each shed prior to commencing operations.
- Report any repairs/maintenance requirements to Site Manager.
- Dispose of rubbish/sweepings.
- Checks and cleans drains
- Regular inspection and housekeeping
- Upon completion of the day’s activities, ensure all sheds are closed and lights turned off.
General Operations duties:
- Loading/unloading Containers
- Loading/unloading scrap bins
- Loading/unloading Pallets
- Cleaning hoppers
- General loading/unloading of trucks
- Checks and cleans drains
Trade assistance:
- Assist Workshop Maintenance Coordinator with washing mobile equipment.
- Minor servicing and repairs.
- Greasing of grabs.
- Operation of sweeper truck and water truck for environmental housekeeping as required.
- Complete machinery pre-operations check.
- Other duties as directed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Forklift Licence (Essential)
- Experience operating Forklift up to 35 tonne (Preferred)
- Front end loader (Preferred)
- Excavator Licence (preferred)
- Rigging/Dogman ticket (preferred)
- Load Restraint Training (preferred)
- Working at Height Training (essential)
- Eligible to hold or have a current MSIC clearance
- Basic understanding of warehousing and inventory principles and practices
- Adequate numeracy and literacy
