THE ROLE
The primary purpose of the Materials Officer - G4 is to typically work as part of a small team performing well defined tasks where there is a specific objective and outcome. The primary objectives of this role is to effect the secure management of materials and spare parts in a warehouse environment; to receive, put away, preserve, pick and deliver items for preventative and corrective maintenance activities or any other as required by the business.

Specific Responsibilities
• Maintain adherence to warehousing principles and processes
• Actively engage with Team Leaders and the Inventory team to identify, locate and/or process orders as and when required
• Communicate and follow the direction of the Leadership Team
• Effectively manage relationships within a team environment without conflict
• Process incoming with the same diligence as outbound materials
• Complete tasks as directed by the Leadership team to the highest standard
• Operate relevant machinery aligned to skillset in the safest possible manner, along with any other materials handling equipment
• Routinely cycle count inventory and complete associated paperwork as directed
• Actively work to keep the workplace clean and safe
• Maintain principles learned from the VOC/Training programs to the required standard
• Safely load and unload trucks of various configurations and sizes in a timely manner. Unload vehicles accurately and within specified time limits with a focus ensuring materials are physically receipted correctly, employing appropriate manual handling behaviours
• Any other reasonable request or task that is within their physical capability and skill set and in which they have been trained to the required standard
• Demonstrate a lead by example attitude that inspires fellow team members
• Assist Team Lead with the mentoring/guidance of G2/G3 Materials Officers
• Actively participate and facilitate toolbox/midday transition meetings as required by the Leadership team
• Operate machinery to the required standard whilst complying with site Safety policy and procedures
Qualifications and Experience
• Understanding of MS Office Suite as required
• Current Australian Driver Licence (Car)
• Current Forklift Licence (LF)
• Experience in warehousing (Desirable)
• HR Driver Licence (Desirable)
• Dangerous Goods awareness (Desirable)
• Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent customer focus
• Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment, and assists others with adapting to change
• A person of integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments
• Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required
