About the role
With strong links to Operations and Corporate Finance, the Credit Controller is a dynamic and integral role for the Ports Division. The person will be responsible for maintaining outstanding collection and recoveries to minimise aged debtors, ensuring consistency, best practice and effectiveness that reflects Qube Ports high customer service commitment and culture.
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage the credit function for the Ports Division in Australia
- Ensure customer accounts are opened in a timely manner (providing all credit checks are met)
- Ensuring that outstanding amounts are collected
- Implement new strategies to increase efficiencies
- Conduct continuous due diligence on credit processes
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Analyse and provide accurate debtors reporting
- Deal with escalations and enquiries
- Timely generation on monthly and weekly reports
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 2-3 years in a similar position
- Strong negotiating skills, a natural problem solver
- The ability to communicate with a variety of people
- Advanced level of computer literacy with in-house accounting packages and MS Office products
- Highly proficient in relevant laws, regulations and best practice
- Highly organised and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to develop, implement and maintain effective filing systems and procedures
- Ability to deal effectively with clients, employees, managers and customers
- Proficient user of Oracle Fusion ERP Accounts Receivable
- Desirable experience in stevedoring or logistics industry
Essential
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Respond to internal business user requests for assistance with issues related to application and functions
