We have an opportunity for a competent Refrigeration Technician to join our busy and high performing team based at our Auckland based depot. The successful individual will support and assist our team in carrying out repairs, service and maintenance on refrigerated shipping container machinery. Once competent there is an opportunity for inclusion in the after-hours breakdown roster which offers you a company vehicle and pay increase!
Position: Competent Reefer Technician
Location: Auckland
Status: Full-time with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week.
Hours
This is a full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week. Whilst the logistics environment is dynamic; hours are typically worked between 7.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday and Saturday 7.00am – 12.00pm.
What You’ll Do:
The primary purpose of this role is to inspect, repair, maintain refrigerated containers and shipping container machinery to industry standards and specifications.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Inspect plugs, leads providing repair or replacements
- Complete ‘plug-ins’, set point checks, pre-trip inspections and monitoring
- Fault finding diagnostics, installation and repairs
- Carry out on-call duties as required
Industry specific and technical training will be provided to ensure you are skilled and experienced in your role. Expertise in shipping container refrigeration can have you working at any Port anywhere in the world!
Qualifications:
We are looking for an experienced Refrigeration Technician with container refrigeration specific experience, or a minimum of an Electrical Service Technician practicing license (EST) or the ability to gain one.
- EWRB Electrical Service Technician Practicing License (EST)
- Trade Qualifications (preferred but not essential)
- Container Refrigeration specific experience (required)
- Full NZ Class 1 Licence (Required)
What We Need
You will have a passion or interest in refrigeration and electrical systems, be a good communicator and have a “can do” attitude. You will thrive in a team environment and gain confidence and efficiency through your inquisitive nature and desire to contribute. You must have a minimum of 2 years industry experience, to be successful in this job.
