Roles
We currently have casual positions available for a range of roles including
- Excavator Operators: Responsible for operating an excavator fitted with a log grapple or bucket inside the vessel.
- Wheeled Excavators (Material Handler) with Grapple: Responsible for unloading log trucks, stacking logs in rows, and loading logs onto purpose-built log trailers for movement within the port.
- Wheel Loader Operators: Responsible for Unloading log trucks and rail wagons, and load logs onto purpose-built log trailers for movement within the port.
- Terminal Tractor Operators: Responsible for the movement of semi-trailers across short distances within the port.
As part of a specialized team of stevedores and log marshallers you will be trained in a wide range of tasks and, while we are looking for individuals with experience, we also offer opportunities to train individuals who are keen and enthusiastic to build a long-term career in this industry.
Requirements:
- Ideally candidates will have experience operating diggers, or loaders. Log handling experience is also desirable.
- Valid NZ Driver's license.
- Right to work in New Zealand.
- Commitment to health and safety for yourself and others.
- Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice check, ACC check, and a drug and alcohol test (note: random drug and alcohol testing is compulsory).
