The Opportunity
Qube Grains are seeking a dedicated Road Logistics Coordinator to join the team.
This role focuses on engaging with trucking sub-contractors and negotiating competitive freight rates for bulk grain transportation from farms or third-party sources to Qube sites and port terminals.
This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Qube Contractor Management Systems, Legislation and Company Standards, and serve as a liaison between growers, sub-contractors and internal teams.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Road Freight:
- Quote and negotiate road freight rates for accumulation and trade teams.
- Plan and execute both internal site and external road freight movements.
- Contractor and Chain of Responsibility (COR) Management
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Perform accurate data entry into relevant databases and management systems.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for contracts, transactions, inventory, and other operational data.
Rate Systems Maintenance:
- Monitor and update rate systems to ensure accuracy in pricing and cost management
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies to resolve any issues related to pricing and billing.
Stock Monitoring:
- Track inventory levels and assist in forecasting demand to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Coordinate with suppliers and bulk operations to manage stock replenishment and minimize shortages.
- Stock ordering with external parties
Customer Service:
- Act as a point of contact for customers regarding grain orders, inquiries, and issues.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues efficiently, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
General Support:
- Provide general support to the wider Grains team
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate effective communication and operational efficiency.
Skills and Experience that you possess:
- Previous experience in road freight coordination, or a similar role, preferably in the agricultural or grains industry.
- Agtech preferrable but not essential
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, with road transport companies.
- Excellent time management abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with data management software or ERP systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and systems.
