ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary purpose of the FP&BA is to be accountable for the analysis and reporting of the Australian Business Units operational performance.  Provision of support in developing capital expenditure proposals for the Australian and SE Asia businesses, including analysis and drawing up of the proposal.

Specific Responsibilities

• Preparation of the month end management reporting and results consolidation process for the Ports business units covering profit and loss, capital expenditure and working capital;

• Working closely with Operational teams to meet monthly management reporting timetables and ensure high integrity in the accuracy and completeness of financial results;

•  Develop Capital expenditure procedures, manage all the capex requests and provide the financial backup for all proposals for the Australian and SE Asia business units;

• Support the annual budget process and the weekly forecasting;

• Review and recommend improvements to existing processes, procedures and systems to enhance productivity and reduce costs;

• Provide support to the Director Ports and GM Finance as required;

• Assisting in financial due diligence of M&A opportunities and the development of the business case and Board review and approval materials. Assist with post investment reviews;

• Provide support to the development of tenders in developing financial analysis of the proposed tender;

• Presenting complex financial information and analysis to management and other stakeholders to facilitate strategic discussions;

• Ad hoc project analysis as required by GM Finance and General Manager’s including helping with the Budget preparation.

Qualifications and Experience

The following competencies have been identified as required to be successful. These competencies help define how we do our role and recognise the behaviours that we need to display daily. The required competencies for this role:

Essential

• Circa 5+ years similar experience in a large multi divisional company

• CA/CPA qualification

• Big 4 audit background or prior ASX listed reporting experience

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Experience in undertaking M&A due diligence

• Strong influencing skills

• Able to work to deadlines and manage a number of competing priorities

• Strong orientation to process improvement / change management

• Self-motivated, energetic, able to work independently and collaboratively in teams

• Strong time management and organisational skills

• A “can do” problem solving attitude

• Demonstrated professional work ethic with a proven ability to take on new challenges and be able to adapt to change

• Good systems and process skills and/or ability to develop those as the role requires and evolves

 

Desirable

• Knowledge of Qube’s operations

• Working knowledge of Oracle ERP/EPM/FCCS
