ABOUT THE ROLE

We are a leading Supply Chain and Logistics company committed to leveraging advanced data solutions to drive innovation and strategic decision-making. Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with data analytics, and we are seeking a talented SQL Database Administrator with expertise in SQL Server, performance tuning, and database security to join us in optimizing our data infrastructure.

As a SQL Database Administrator, you will play a key role in managing, optimizing, and securing our on-premises SQL Server database environment. You will collaborate closely with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of our databases. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced technologies and contribute to impactful data initiatives within a robust on-premises infrastructure.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Expertise in writing, optimizing, and debugging SQL queries, with a deep understanding of database design, indexing, normalization, and replication.
  • Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting database issues in an on-premises environment.
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies, high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and clustering solutions for SQL Server.
  • Solid understanding of database security, access controls, and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with automation/scheduling tools (e.g., SQL Server Agent, cron) and version control (e.g., Git/Bitbucket).
  • Strong understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Server Management Studio).
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to document technical processes clearly.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, working seamlessly with business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Experience in monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting large-scale on-premises database environments.
  • Exposure to advanced analytics, AI/ML integration, or modern data architecture trends.
