About the role
The Yard Hand for Warehousing & Logistics plays a vital hands on proactive role in supporting daily freight, warehousing, and yard operations to ensure efficiency, safety and compliance across Qube Energy Transport’s logistics network.
This position contributes directly to the smooth running of inbound and outbound freight, warehouse stock control, and yard coordination. The role also supports asset readiness, site organisation, and safety compliance within the QE Transport site.
A proactive and safety-focused individual, the Yard Hand ensures yard and warehouse operations are carried out efficiently, aligning with Qube Energy’s operational, compliance, and customer service standards under the Qube Safe framework.
Location: Canning Vale, WA
Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform daily warehouse and yard operations, ensuring efficient movement and storage of freight and equipment
- Conduct loading and unloading of vehicles in line with Qube’s Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Load Restraint Guidelines
- Assist with inventory management including receiving, dispatching, and stock control within the warehouse
- Maintain accurate documentation of freight movements, manifests, and proof of delivery (POD) records
- Liaise with drivers, subcontractors, and logistics staff to ensure smooth daily operations and job completion
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard environment
- Perform daily pre-start checks on forklifts, lifting devices, and other yard equipment
- Support project freight coordination and staging for large-scale operations
- Monitor the safe storage and segregation of dangerous goods (DG) where applicable
- Lead by example in safety compliance and ensure all team members adhere to site HSE procedures
- Report defects, incidents, and near misses via INX and support root cause follow-ups
- Assist with the coordination of maintenance and repairs of warehouse and yard equipment
- Supervise casual labour or assist as a leading hand during busy operational periods
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings
- Undertake other duties as required to support Qube Energy Transport’s operational objectives
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse, yard, or logistics operations
- Strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and load restraint practices
- Current forklift (LF) licence
- Current HR class driver’s licence or above
- Competent in basic computer systems (POD entry, manifests, CoR checklists.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
