Transport Operations Supervisor – QL Newcastle
Qube Logistics are seeking a dedicated Transport Operations Supervisor to join the team.
This role forms a key part of the Carrington Logistics Operations team and is responsible for supervising road transport operators, coordinating efficient freight deliveries of various products and compliance with regulatory, legislative and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities.
Road Freight:
- Plan and execute both internal site and external road freight movements.
- Contractor and Chain of Responsibility (COR) Management
- Fleet maintenance and compliance
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Perform accurate data entry into relevant databases and management systems.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for contracts, transactions, and other operational data.
Rate Systems Maintenance:
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies to resolve any issues related to transportation
Customer Service:
- Act as a point of contact for customers regarding transport activities, inquiries, and issues.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues efficiently, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
General Support:
- Provide general support to the Carrington Logistics Operations team
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate effective communication and operational efficiency.
Experience:
- Previous experience in road freight coordination, or a similar role, preferably in the steel industry.
- Freight management Operating systems, preferred but not essential
- Management of small team of people
Skills:
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent time management abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with data management software systems.
